Müge İrem Beyazıt
İkrah
Ikrah is an installation that questions the personal, natural, and cosmic layers of cyclical existence while confronting the material traces of these processes. The work, created from recycled plastic and menstrual blood, draws attention to the symbolic similarity between the lunar cycle and menstruation, while also bringing concepts of time, rhythm, and continuity into focus. By combining organic and synthetic materials, the artist makes visible the contradictory relationships between nature and the body. The preserved form of blood makes the unseen visible, questioning the transformation of transience into permanence. Beyazıt invites the viewer to reflect on concepts such as fertility, waste, and memory, framed within a feminist subtext.
